The Gelmini brothers, Giuseppe and Ivano, owners of Fabbrica
d’Armi S.I.A.C.E., were born in Valle
Trompia where they still live with their families. When they
were children they started to show a great interest in guns
and hunting following an old family tradition. Back then a very
lively network of subcontractors worked for the gun industry
in Gardone Val Trompia and the brothers had a chance to get
trained in local gun workshops. Giuseppe decided to specialize
in wood work and become a stocker, while Ivano specialized in
metal work. In 1990 after many years of work and experience
they took over S.I.A.C.E. a 40 year old company.
Being avid hunters with a great passion for side by side
shotguns, Giuseppe and Ivano have devoted their entire carriers
to the production of fine hammer and hammerless side by side
shotguns in all calibers. Almost all their guns are entirely
custom made and feature elegant stocks and fore-ends and fine
hand engraving executed by the best master engravers from
Brescia. The Gelmini brothers are also renown for carrying
out service and repair work not only on their guns, but on
almost every modei and brand produced.
Thanks to the Gelmini Brothers’ efforts, dedication
and desire to implement new technologies without giving up
craftsmanship and traditions, SIACE kept growing and in 2002
Ivano’s two sons, Ferdinando and Daniele joined the
workshop and Giuseppe’s daughter, Dr. Veronica, started
to run the company.
The enthusiasm, energy and creativity of the new generation
combined with technology and the experience of the old one
has led to the creation of new models like the hammer and
hammerless double rifle S/S, and the brand new O/U shotguns.
The new models are the young Gelminis’ first challenge
and will be introduced at the most important national and
international trade shows.
The result is a high quality product, strong and reliable
but still light, precise and beautiful.
